How Much Space Do You Need?

This part of our web site is designed to give you a good idea of the amount of space your removal will need.
Most of our quotations are based on the information supplied by the customer via our on line quotation form - allowing us to then estimate the space required.

8 to10 medium, average removals cartons amount to a cubic metre of space. Any easy way to work this out is to visualise the space of 1.5 washing machines. This gives approximately a cubic metre.
Items such as paintings, mirrors, ironing boards and rugs, do not take up much space, as, as long as they are well wrapped, they can slot into available gaps etc, saving space.
3 Seater sofas, generally measure 2.5 cubic metres, and a 2 seater around 2 cubic metres. If you have two sofas, these can be transported one on top (upside down) of the other, the same way as the manufacturer transports them, meaning a 2+2 or a 3+2 would then onlytake up between 2.5 and 3.0 cubic metres in total. There is also usually room between the two for a few rugs or bags of bedding/curtains etc!
