Storage

All the storage units we use are fully secure with 24 hour security.  Our insurance with AXA, one of the UK's leading removals and storage insurance companies, is in force from the moment we arrive at your address until it is all delivered in to your new property, so you can leave your items knowing that should the worst ever happen, it's fully covered.  

We don't include storage in our removals quotations as most customers don't require such.  If you do require storage, we keep all charges competitive and everything is insured!

Our policy with AXA (UK) is one of the best policies available to the Removers and Storers trades.  It's a European specific policy, insuring moves up to £30,000.  We can of course increase the cover if required on payment of a small premium.  Maximum cover available is £100,000.  As with all insurance, there are some exclusions and requirements, so we have listed the more important ones below.  Full details of the insurance is available on request and can be verified by our UK based brokers.  Unlike our competitors, we do not hold back any important information that you as a consumer should be aware of.

Main Points to bear in mind

1.  There is a £100 admin fee payable by the customer in the event of a claim

2.  You must inform us of any items valued in excess of £1000.  Highlighting such on the inventory forms. 

3.  We can not carry jewellery unless you want us to do so at your own risk. Coin and stamp collections are not covered but can be carried at your own risk.

4.  Pairs cover is not available.  This means if you have two items forming a pair, and one gets broken, then only the value of the loss is covered and not the loss in value (if any) of the remaining item. 

5.  Most of customers pack their own belongings into boxes.  The customer must leave open any boxes containing fragile or expensive items for us to inspect to ensure they are adequately packaged prior to transport.  Most items travel fine and breakages are very rare, but if you have for example, crystal vases, expensive crockery etc, please leave the box/container open for us to have a quick look ensure adequate packaging.  If in doubt, please ask us. 

6.  LCD and Plasma TV's should ideally be packed in their original boxes.  If this is not possible, then they need to be very well wrapped in bubble wrap or similar. If you would prefer we do this, please ask.

7.  Cars, Motorbikes and Caravans will be inspected prior to transit and have any prior damage recorded by us.

When obtaining quotes from any company, ALWAYS ask about what cover is in force and whether it is European specific.  It does not do any harm at all to verify the policy with their brokers whos telephone number you should obtain from the internet.  Don't leave it to chance - they are your worldly goods at the end of the day and any reputable company will not mind you enquiring about the insurance cover in force.
